The Stone People in Shamanism: oldest and wisest of the People.

Over six weekends (although the weekends can also be taken individually), spread over late 2017 and the first half of 2018. Booking up!

Dates: 2017 August 5+6, September 23+24, November 18+19; 2018 January 13+14, March 17+18, May 12+13.

Venue: Llandudno.

The Stone People are the living rocks, minerals, crystals and gemstones. Of what shamans call 'the Peoples', the Stone People came first. A long, long, long time later came the Plant People. Next came the Standing People (the trees). Then came the Animal People. And last came the Human people. By shamanic reckoning we humans, far from being the wisest of the people, are actually the (often naughty) children. Over these five weekends we will explore some of the incredibly ancient wisdom of the Stone People, and of the Earth itself. We will learn how to communicate with mountains and rocks and crystals, their helper spirits and other earth spirits, as conscious, living beings. This will include: developing a strong working relationship with (one or more) Stone Spirit teachers; learning the healing medicine of a number of specific crystals and/or rocks, and so gathering a number of powerful allies for our shamanic healing work; and meeting Mother Earth herself, and experience the earth as a living, loving and conscious being.

Each weekend will be centred around a theme. The themes are to be confirmed, but will probably be…

  1. Grounding, belonging, protection and Mother Earth.
  2. Upper-world, perspective and Father Sun.
  3. Affairs of the heart.
  4. Power, assertion, boundaries and entanglements.
  5. Working with the Stone People in doing extraction, soul retrieval and depossession.
  6. Theme to be decided (by request from students).

On each weekend we will explore our own issues around the theme, and meet and work with various different Stone People who are relevant to the issue. As well as raising our self-awareness and receiving healing, the course will give participants a ‘medicine bag’ or tool-kit of Stone People allies and helpers to draw upon in their shamanic work and exploration.

“I have always loved collecting crystals and felt drawn to their different energies. This course however, was a real eye-opener to show me how immensely intelligent and powerful the Stone People are and how great their capacity is to heal. These courses provided a thorough and broad knowledge base of the rich variety of the Stone People and they equipped me with numerous skills to further develop my relationship with them. Not surprisingly, theses courses were incredibly grounding!” L.M., Cumbria.

“Spread over five months, I found this to be a fantastic course. Due to the themed weekends, and Paul's teaching, the depth of issues and healing we managed to work though was quite remarkable. I have felt quite a different person ever since. It was so much more than a course learning about the Stone People, and their healing properties - although these were well covered. I now feel more grounded, and in particular, had the opportunity to help heal deep wounds of the heart, confront issues of dis-empowerment, and have extraction work done on difficult and negative energy I had attracted from earlier in my life. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone either looking for sustained deep healing work, or with a strong interest in working with stones on a shamanic level”.

“As a fully qualified crystal therapist from a college of good lineage, I admit I was still slightly perplexed with myself as to why I was doing The Stone People course. However, the blurb read that a good shamanic medicine bundle required a good sound knowledge of the stones and so I appeased myself with the thought that seeing crystals from a shamanic viewpoint could only enrich my existing education and practice. I booked two of the courses, believing that dipping in would suffice, after all, I was already a specialist of sorts. Specialist of nothing was what I really was, quickly proven to me by mid-morning on the first day! My former training and ‘knowing’ of crystals, gained by sensitively working with them and earnestly studying them, had left me with the sort of knowledge that one might possess about an acquaintance one knows - you know they like to wear red, you know what they’re good at, where they might best be placed at a supper table and who not to place them with, but one certainly wouldn’t make them first port of call in an emergency. Whereas, on The Stone People in Shamanism, led by the boundless Paul Francis, I didn’t just become their acquaintance, I didn’t even just become their friend - what I did do, is I became them. I became them through a process called groking and journeying, learnt about them deeply, from the inside out. If I had my time again, please know that I wouldn’t have listened to my Inner Sensible Financial Administrator - I would have just booked them all because they really are that darn good.” J.A.
